Wow ! Simply wow with everything. I normally dot write reviews . This one I had to. I just was able to start playing with this rod. I put on a Teton reel with 5wf Orivs Pro Trout line . I was only able to lawn cast this setup. Simply WOW ! I can shoot line like crazy ! It to me loads line with tight loops very easy. With the wood grip. obviously makes the rod a little bit heaver, I actually think it helps me cast better. The rod and craftsmanship is second to none ! I own many rods. I got everything I wanted and a lot more. Looks great next to my grouse guns to ! Very classic !. Maybe my new favorite rod. Thank you.

This fly rod (7wt Penobscot Bay) is absurd. High quality build, incredible customer service, and a local company too. The rod is amazing - powerful with plenty of feel, it can deliver a large fly in winds that might normally send me home. And it has the backbone to fight a sizable bass. Couldn't be happier with the purchase - it might be my first rod from this crew, but it most certainly won't be my last.

I opened the box expecting a fly rod but I received a work of art! This rod is absolutely beautiful. Even my wife, who couldnt give a rats $/&;@, said it was amazing. There is 10 feet of snow in my backyard in Crested Butte right now. It will be some time before I can fish the river with my new fly rod, however, I can attest to the quality of the build. Ordered a custom Landlocks at the start of the Covid lockdown as part of a birthday present for my wife. Jeff at MFC was amazing to work with and made an absolute masterpiece. I had reached out to him early enough and gave him an extended timeline on the project and he was able to accommodate all of my requests except a custom reel seat (which wasn’t an issue, and he has since started turning his own reel seat inserts). He absolutely knocked it out of the park with this rod, even getting a purple thread to match a purple reel I had gotten to pair with this rod and making an extra tip section, along with several other special features that I had requested. If they don’t have a Landlocks in the specs you are looking for don’t hesitate to custom order one, You will not be disappointed.
