The Tumbledown is the ideal packable rod.  Easily fits in a day pack, carry on luggage or your favorite sling pack. The colors for this batch were inspired by the rich granite found on the mountains summit with wraps to mirror the wild Rhodora seen along the trail in May/June.  The house made reel seat are sourced from local Birch as seen along the trail head and throughout your ascent. This one pairs well with our no kink reel case, fly wallet and small fly box.  A minimalist dream!

Declared the most visited mountain in Maine, Tumbledown needs little introduction. Its popularity stems from its appeal to nearly everyone; a challenging but relatively short 1.5-mile ascent up the Loop Trail brings hikers to a half-mile bald ridgeline with some of the best western mountain views in the state, and is followed by a gentle descent to picturesque Tumbledown Pond. Both the mountain and the pond are rich with natural history and legend, and Tumbledown’s flanks and twin summits are home to a striking variety of natural communities and several animal species that are rare, endangered, or just plain fascinating.
