Join us for a hands-on Fly-Fishing Workshop, perfect for beginners looking to build a strong foundation in the art of fly fishing. In this workshop you will get personalized instruction on the fundamentals of fly fishing including casting, understanding rods and reel types and options, other gear you might need, rigging up, knot-tying, and the basic fly patterns you need to succeed. We will also cover the various fly-fishing tactics including dry fly fishing, nymphing, streamer fishing, and the variations of each. Instruction will be both hands on (you will be tying the knots and rigging up) and watching video. This class will be held in our shop (indoors) so participants will be limited to six only. Bring your own rod and reel if you have one. Young people welcome.
Our instructor will be Lou Zambello, well-known fly-fishing guide, author, and educator. He is the author of four fly-fishing books including Fly Fishers Guide to New England and is a columnist for the Maine Sportsman. His articles have appeared in many magazines and books, and he has given fly-fishing presentations across the U.S.
